Central Wisconsin Airport is a regional airport located in Mosinee, Wisconsin, which is a short 24 minute drive Stevens Point. Currently there are three airlines that fly into and out of CWA: Delta, United and American. Delta Air Lines provides flights daily to Minneapolis/St. Paul and Detroit. Both United and American Airlines provide flights daily to Chicago O’Hare. From the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center start out going south on Amber Ave toward US -10W, turn right onto US-10 W, merge onto I-39 N / US-10 W/ US-51 N/ WI-66 N toward Wausau, take the WI-153 exit toward Mosinee/ Elderon, turn right onto WI-153 E, take the 1st right onto CWA dr, Central Wisconsin Airport is on the right.
CWA first opened in 1969 with 39,000 departing passengers. In 2010 CWA had more than 160,000 departing passengers. The Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) is a regional non-hub airport located in Mosinee, WI, roughly equidistant between Stevens Point and Wausau. The airport is owned by Marathon and Portage Counties and is governed by the Central Wisconsin Joint Airport Board. It is currently served by three airlines: Delta, United and American and operates 14 daily departures. Delta Air Lines provides flights daily to Minneapolis/St. Paul and Detroit. The airport expects see in estimated 160,000 departing passengers for 2010. CWA completed a concourse renovation in 1998, which equipped the airport with five departure gates and four boarding bridges. CWA will break ground in spring 2011 on a terminal renovation and expansion aimed at increasing operational space, expanding the security check-point, relocating car rentals to their own facility and expanding current parking facilities. The project is estimated at $25 million and will be completed in a three-year process
